Review of Wanted (2008) by Trent B — 28 Aug 2012
Despite the swarms of raging reviews this movie got from fans and some critics alike, this movie less than delivers. You already have to suspend yourself in a certain amount of disbelief before you even walk in, but even with that this is a hard concept to buy.
With the exception of a few (very few) action shots, the entire movie falls flat on it's face. Not even Morgan Freeman could save this attempt at a summer action flick. The creators have not really done anything new here.
They took things that we have all seen before, recycled them with some fancy, new CGI, and told us it was something revolutionary and it would blow our minds. With more lame and cheesy moments than I feel comfortable with for $9 a ticket, this movie is essentially what I like to call a Blow-Job movie.
its quick and fun, but at the end all your looking at is a huge mess. If thats what you want, by all means, this is the movie for you. but if you want a real summer movie, check out The Dark Knight.
