Review of Wanted (2008) by Niki L — 31 Dec 2012
I really enjoyed this movie. I thought James McAvoy was excellent and a clear star in the making, and whilst she played a lesser role than I would had expected, Angelina Jolie was quite good also. This is not a movie for the faint of heart, so needless to say we were shocked to see a fellow movie goer bring their kids both aged around 7 or 8 (max).
He would have been regretting that about 3 minutes into the movie. For what this movie is, I was all but set to give it 4.5 stars - but I felt somewhat let down by the ending. I am reluctant to say it was an unrealistic ending, but it was just a bit dumbed down for my liking.
With great action scenes, a decent story and a likeable lead actor in McAvoy, I'd recommend this movie if you're ready for a bit of violence (just don't take your kids!).
