Review of Wanted (2008) by Scubasteve Walter M — 25 Jan 2014
It's rare enough to see the movie adaptation over shines the original book. Well in this case, it did. It took out most of the book and turned into something completely different.
Bending bullets is the ultimate strength for this film which is non-existent in Millar's comic book. Bullets shot so accurately that they even collide with each other. And that scene at the end where Fox just bent a bullet to circle around is just epic.
The only thing the movie took from the book is the extreme escapist concept, where everything will change one day because of this and that. But in the end, Wanted the movie will always be far in terms of excellence in storyline and concepts from the comic book. James McAvoy did a superb performance also, I think this film launched his career in superhero movies.
