Review of Wanderlust (2012) by Iven S — 28 Jul 2012
This movie is a movie of characters & character moments. Paul Rudd & Jennifer Aniston are great as the "straight" couple who find themselves choosing to live in a commune. The first half of this movie starts out great but it ends up falling into familiar territory, the plot washes into the usual comedy fair.
It would have been more interesting if they stepped into more uncharted territory of commune life as the characters and their beliefs are quite amusing & it would have been more interesting to see what else they could have gotten into.
Still I laughed a great deal in this movie but felt very uncomfortable with the mirror scene with Paul Rudd ad-libbing... I don't think that really works.... my two cents anyway.... but it did detract things for me as they kept pushing that.
