Review of Wanderlust (2012) by Bob N — 22 Jan 2013
This film just never comes together despite all the talent involved. Paul Rudd is usually quite good but even he can't save a semi drama film. They marketed this as a comedy when they possibly could of turned it into something special.
The direction is clearly lacking any focus. The tone of the film is all wrong especially when they could of made a drama with oddball characters. The characters would of made the film stronger with more precise character development.
The problem with the film is the miscasting and underwritten roles. Aniston and Rudd just don't have chemistry for the film to work. The writers obviously had an intention of creating a semi drama comedy film they forgot to add character. I was quite shocked at the missed opportunities not to say its the worst film just let down.
The film tries to hard and just misses its target audience. The film was aimed at teens instead of the older audience.
