Review of Wanderlust (2012) by Michael L — 29 Jun 2013
The first 35 minutes of WANDERLUST is superb. Witty, perfectly paced, and wonderfully acted. Linda Lavin in a very short scene is brilliant as a realtor who describes the couple's NYC studio apartment as a "microloft.
" Fabulous! Then the premise kicks in and WANDERLUST has nowhere to go but dick jokes. Very sad considering they were on such a great track. Luckily, the cast is very likable and very game. But boy does this film fall apart after a really super opening.
Shows what happens when all you've got is a premise.
