Review of Waltz with Bashir (2008) by Jeremy H — 09 Jul 2009
This film could've been told the old-school, regular way of just straight documentary style. But it's subject matter and the director's visions of the Lebanon War ask for more.
And the audience is served with one of the better animated films of last year. This is a great film, and I really like how documentaries are taking risks these days. This, along with Man on Wire and even the eye-rolling-inducing My Winnipeg are all worth checking out for its way of keeping a viewer intrigued on a subject that could be very, very banal.
