Review of Waltz with Bashir (2008) by Gabo L — 15 Aug 2009

This is probably the best war film I've ever seen. What's interesting is that it's more accurate than any other war film despite the fact that it's animated. A lot of live action war films create romanticized characters who the audience ends up relating too.

This can be fine, but his often upstages the anti-war message of the films. This film really gets the the feelings and desires of the characters without having to filter through actors who might or might not really understand the part.

There are so many powerful and accurate scenes, especially the ending. Even the flashbacks and fantasies hold more truth than the real story.
