Review of Waltz with Bashir (2008) by Jacky L — 01 Nov 2009
This is a very personal project for the film director; it documents the days he served in the Israeli Defense Forces during the Lebanon War, how he completely has no recollection of the Sabra and Shatila massacre, and his quest to remember that dark period again.
To be honest, I can't quite decide if the animation looks good, or not. Waltz with Bashir's a very slow moving piece.. it's not for everyone.
You've got to watch the bonus features on the DVD. I might have enjoyed the making of slightly more than the film itself. behind the scenes was interesting and touching to watch; you can't help but feel happy for the team for bagging some awards in recognition of their hard work.
