Review of Waltz with Bashir (2008) by James L — 07 Feb 2010

Visually this is some of the best animation I've ever seen in a film. The coloring changes in each scene to match the mood and the semi-realistic tone makes it feel more real. The soundtrack is also quite stellar.

Having said that, the story itself tends to drag on a bit and the massacre that the main character has blocked from his memory didn't come off as gruesome as any of the other parts of the film already shown.

I recommend watching just for the visuals and hope the filmmaker receives more options in the future.
