Review of Waltz with Bashir (2008) by Luca V — 05 Mar 2010
This film has the same importance as Persepolis. Obviously is better drawn. Obviously Persepolis tell us many more things. But this is good as well. IT is the story of the Lebanon War. I think this guy, ex soldier, Ari Folman, has not lost the memory of the Sabra and Shatila massacre because he feels guilty; I think he lost his memories because he drinks and smokes too much joints, with his former comrades.
One imagines that Israelian are radical religious men. But in this case these blokes have a very relaxed approach with war and life in general. It is a travel in the minds of this people which is so criticised in the world for its actions against the poor (defenceless?) Palestinians.
