Review of Waltz with Bashir (2008) by Onyx C — 14 Jun 2010
Arguably, the most innovative animated (documentary) film ever made, Waltz with bashir deals with directorâ??s Ari Folmanâ??s own quest to rediscover his lost memory of 1982 massacres at Palestinian refugee camp in Lebanon. Itâ??s a Soul Searching and sincere account of a journey to face up guilt and responsibility. Not a usual war film where the focus is on blood, bullets and battleground, but the clusters of sub consciousness where landmines of reminiscences are waiting to explode.
Amazingly, all that wonderful animation was achieved with off the shelf softwares like Adobe Flash, Lightwave 3d and traditional rotoscoping.
