Review of Waltz with Bashir (2008) by Joseph R — 18 Nov 2010
Very good. The film is largely focused on memory, but it also explores such themes as guilt, responsibility, fear, redemption etc. It's typical of these "regretful warrior" movies, don't think that's an actual term, in the way it handles its subject matter, but the visual style lends an atmosphere to the film that is at times nightmarish, sometimes surreal, but always beautiful.
Watch it back to back with Persepolis for an interesting movie night.
