Waltz with Bashir is a powerful Israeli film about the director's experiences in the Lebanon War. He interviews former army buddies in order to piece together his forgotten memories on the front. It's not an easy watch, but it's gorgeous.
The film is almost entirely animated in a beautiful and unique style that looks rotoscoped, but isn't. The animation in conjunction with the creative music choices creates a visual wonder. It's not always an easy watch, but the beauty of the imagery will keep you glued to the screen.
