Review of Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps (2010) by Christopher M — 06 Apr 2011
What is Oliver Stone doing? He usually loves to throw himself into the macho bloodiness of the cinematic fray and he has the character to work with as he did in 1987. This is Oli's strength. But here he also wants to murmur a trite and pious lullaby about how our children are our real wealth.
It is also clear that Stone loves the power and poshness of the celebrities who waltz through the picture including Charlie Sheen (the real winner). But the director is too preachy once again, standing on a soap box, in a 'our dumb nation' way, as if wringing his hands with fatherly worry will get his message across that greed is not good.
