Review of Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps (2010) by Jacob K — 18 Aug 2011
Well I was a bit disappointed by the sequel to the classic that is Wall Street.
Yes it has a lot of really good actors in it, and yes the performances for the most part were quite good, especially Micheal Douglas in his return role to Gordon Gecko.
It's been a long while since the first one hit it big, but now so many years later with this new film something is missing, or maybe nothing is missing, and we simply are given to much in a package to small to contain it all.
Constantly this movie jumps around, and you lose interest, and than you regain it, and back and forth with this until it draws itself to an end, and by that time I wasn't fully aware as to what my exact feelings were. I can tell you this though I did not dislike it.
Oliver Stone as a director has made plenty of great movies, and in some cases a couple disappointments. Meaning sometimes he just tries a little to hard. This is one of those cases.
It's a descent watch. If you've seen the first well than this is definitely worth a look if you've not seen it yet, but otherwise not a must see.
