Review of Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps (2010) by Samaila A — 04 Mar 2012
A worthy remake though not nearly as good as the original. Douglas is on fine form though doesn't give quite as stirring a performance as he did in the 1987 version. Comparisons apart, Stone's direction if first class, the young shia La Beouf is impressive in the lead role and it is nice to se so many cameos including ones by Stone himself, Charlie Sheen and not forgetting Susan Sarandon in a bit part.
The best things about the movie are seeing Douglas play Gekko again despite a slightly weaker portrayal, the wonderful shots of the Manhattan skyline and the towering performance by Josh Brolin as the ruthless rival investment banker.
