Review of Wall Street (1987) by Jeff H — 20 Aug 2010
I gave this smart 80's classic another look in preparation for the upcoming sequel Money Never Sleeps. I liked it then, and I love it now. Michael Douglas rapes Wall Street as Gordon Gekko, the quintessential poster boy for greedy day traders, and corrupts fresh-faced Charlie Sheen aka Bud Fox to follow in his footsteps.
Martin Sheen also stands out as Bud's father, but Daryl Hannah is forgettable, as is James Spader. The film's showcasing of such "cutting edge" 80's technology as massive cell phones, monochromatic computers and even a tiny 2" television, is good for a chuckle.
It's available on Netflix Instant Queue; check this out if you haven't seen it (or even if you have), you'll love it!
