Review of Wall Street (1987) by Alexander C — 20 Sep 2010
Greed is good? No. I Create nothing, I own. This film rightly shows how capitalism always climbs higher and higher, the curse of a flawed system, one without compromise or deflation.
Stocks and shares make Jack a dull boy...But a very rich boy.
Gordon Gekko is the symbol of cold, calculating, greed...Until he is faced with a pupil who sees him for what he is, his disciple Bud Fox.
Wall Street is what the 80s was about...Yuppies sucking the other people dry. Making money from the work and sweat of others.
Cue dance from Reagan & Thatcher.
