Review of Wall Street (1987) by Nathan L — 22 Sep 2011
I'm not a very big fan of politics being inserted into film because it comes off at to preachy for me, but if there is one film that does it without being in your face, it's Wall Street.
Given the fact that I haven't seen "Platoon" yet, this is Oliver Stones best film in my opinion. He made it in the time the financial crisis of the 1980s took place, and maybe it's because I wasn't alive then, but it never takes an in-your-face approach to talk about the crisis. Michael Douglas is great and charming as the evil Gordon Gekko, there is a reason why he won the Oscar. Then you have Daryl Hannah who is awful and truly did deserve the Razzie.
It's a good movie with good characters and it reminded me that Charlie Sheen could act.
