Review of WALL·E (2008) by Eng S — 25 Apr 2013
In a nutshell, WALL·E = Short Circuit + An Inconvenient Truth + I am Legend.
I like the effort Pixar put into their cinematography - superb animation + contemporary style of filming makes this a better movie than Cars. I think Pixar just excels at bringing life and humanity to inanimate objects. And here we have compassion between the old and new - notice that WALL·E resembles an Apple II.
And EVE resembles an Apple iMac?
The movie is most interesting during the Earth scenes and the middle scenes on the Axiom. But as you can expect, the movie goes into the familiar happy ending expected from Pixar movies. WALL·E still cannot top Pixar's best movie (The Incredibles), but still represents state-of-the-art animation technology from the Pixar factory.
