Review of WALL·E (2008) by Thomas J — 11 Nov 2014

I put off watching this for years after it came out because Pixar has a very bad track record for me. Oh, it's not that I hate their films, it's just that they don't seem to hit my heartstrings the way they do for most people.

Monsters Inc and The Incredibles both left me cold, and even Toy Story, though impressive as hell when it came out, viewing from a perspective of having seen many well animated movies, just doesn't really interest me.

But this movie? This is a *great* movie. Perhaps it's partly because I grew up watching movies like Short Circuit and Batteries Not Included, but I found Wall-E completely charming. In fact it managed to charm me so completely that I even ran out and got Hello Dolly - which I also loved.

Now I can't watch one without watching the other!
