I think Pixar did a good job visually but I never found the movie engaging. It was too long; and the messages that humans are destroying the Earth & especially that technology will make us fat & lazy was made too obvious too many times.
The movie was also often too frenetic for someone over 50 who doesn't play video games. This was truly one of the most boring movies I have seen in many a year.
