Review of Walking Out (2017) by Amber P — 15 Oct 2017
Profoundly moving, brilliantly acted, gorgeously shot. This is one of the most affecting films I have seen in years. The performances - especially Matt Bomer and Josh Wiggins as the father and son - are breathtaking in their depth, poignancy and genuine rendering of an estranged father and son trying to build an emotional bridge towards each other via a hunting trip in the mountains of Montana.
It is a film about survival, yes. But it is mostly a story about the power of love - the strength it imbues and the transformation it inspires.
