Review of Walker (1987) by Paul C — 14 May 2011
Bizzaro biopic about William Walker - a 19th century Tennessee-born mercenary who ended up as Present of Nicaragua for a couple of years. Gets increasingly odd and more and more blatantly political as it goes on.
It's anti-imperialist message is far from subtle, but it is still worth a look. Made in Nicaragua in the late 80's w/ the help of the Sandinista government. Music by Joe Strummer of The Clash.
