Review of Walkabout (1971) by Marc L — 10 May 2011
Filled with enough unanswered questions to give rise to some fun debates, Roeg's film is a true thing of beauty on Blu-ray. I'm happy to have finally checked it out, as it has a good amount of ambiguity to certain elements that gave me a lot to think about even days after watching it.
Two children are left in the Australian Outback alone when their father inexplicably kills himself and destroys their vehicle, then they must try to make their way back to civilization, aided by an Aborigine boy on his coming of age Walkabout.
Well worth a look, give it a rental at the very least.
