Review of Walk the Line (2005) by Andrew G — 17 Dec 2010
It's really enjoyable, with great performances from Joaquin Phoenix and Reese Witherspoon. The music is good, and this coming from someone who wasn't a Johnny Cash song. I think the problem that I had with it was that if you follow the film's depiction of Cash's life, he didn't lead a distinct life.
We've seen the story before about someone who is suddenly pushed into the limelight, and his personal life begins to collapse around him. Think Raging Bull, but not as brutal. It just makes it an enjoyable film, but nothing special.
