Review of Walk the Line (2005) by Tim J — 14 Nov 2010
The audio levels on the DVD were obnoxious. I had to turn the volume way up in order to hear the dialogue, but the moment music started playing I had to turn the volume down again to avoid waking up our kids.
Johnny Cash was a talented musician, but I just can't get excited about a movie about his life. As Denis Leary once said, "Let me tell you something. We need a two and a half hour movie about the Doors? Folks, no we don't. I can sum it up for you in five seconds, ok. 'I'm drunk. I'm nobody. I'm drunk. I'm famous. I'm drunk. I'm f---ing dead.' There's the whole movie, ok!?".
If you've seen one movie about a drunk, drug addicted musician, you've seen them all.
