Review of Walk the Line (2005) by Christopher M — 26 Jan 2011
This movie marks Joaquin's best performance since Gladiator and Signs. He has portrayed the character of Johnny Cash really well. The credit of performance even goes to Reese Witherspoon giving us her best performance to date. She has superbly acted and given full support to her character.
James Mangold has wonderfully directed this film but there are a few flaws as there are in every film. The theatrical version of this film could have been shortened and edited for the audiences. Despite that, this film is very fun and moving. Joaquin and Reese are included in the Academy Award club in this movie. Every scene is wonderfully captured and the credit goes to Phedon Papamichael Jr. The music is wonderfully awesome and is the main highlight of the film and that has been done by T-Bone Burnett.
Verdict: A fun film which can be watched over and over again only for the music, Joaquin, Reese, and the director's touch by James Mangold.
