Review of Walk the Line (2005) by Enrica C — 19 Oct 2013
Eight years in, and I still see this as one of the best biopics ever shot. "Walk the Line" is great at summarizing the story of the higs and lows of Johnny Cash's life -- the loss of his brother, how that got an enormous influence over his music and his entire lifetime.
The love for June Carter, the drug addiction and getting over it and the troubled relationship with his father. Yes, it might not be perfect but every time I see it I kind of have the feeling that everybody involved in the project just did his/her best to turn it into a great movie.
Might very well be James Mangold's masterpiece -- great music. Stunning acting. It's a beautiful tribute to one of the greatest music legends ever -- Watch it.
