My Review.
Love Is burning.
I'm not into biopic's that much or musicals that pertained to country artists cause well I don't have that many country songs on my ipod but this romance/musical is the best biopic I have ever seen. When I watch a musical I always hope that the music is something I'll like but I don't listen to country much but when I heard the first few songs in the movie I was in. The drama of the story was also enough to keep me invested.
The film follows the life of Johnny Cash(Phoenix)who is on the verge to fame and cuts back into flashbacks of his childhood where an accident happens, establishing the relationship he would have with his father,he settles into following his dream of singing and starts a band. On his first tour he meets a famous idol of his(Witherspoon)June Carter and through their tours they fall for one another.
They couldn't have gotten two better actors to play country legends. Joaquin Phoenix and Resse Witherspoon had great chemistry and play each other off very well. I even loved the moments when they were singing together on stage. I didn't care much for Ginfer Goodwin in this film but she did a good job, she just was barely any interesting.
As a great critic once said, the music is great, the drama is great, the performances are great, I love this movie. I give Walk the Line a five out of five..
