Review of Walk on Water (2004) by David L — 01 Apr 2005
This film has a lot to say....maybe too much. But, it is one of those films that the further you get away from it and the more that you talk about it the more you realize how much you liked it.
The plot seems simple, but it is not and that is one of the exciting things about the film. The differences between these two men, Eyal (Lior Ashkenazi) and Axel (Knut Berger) are thrown at you. From their ideas about things, their sexual preferences and even how they look (as seen in the nude Dead Sea scene), their differences are exaggerated until these differences eventually bring about the resolution of the film.
The ending is a bit weak, but you leave the theater feeling a sense of resolution.
The settings of the film really add to it.
A film you should see.
