Review of Walk of Shame (2014) by Ws W — 02 May 2014
This rather pedestrian comedy provides a star vehicle to the very funny Elizabeth Banks. She's so cute and hot in her tight yellow dress and much of the fun of this entire movie is just watching her do her shtick.
She plays a reporter for one of L.A.'s news channels and is hopefully going to be given the position of anchor, but she has a problem after a night of drunken fun where she ended up sleeping with someone, only to then leave once it's over hence giving the film it's title: Walk of Shame.
She treks forth on her journey to get to the job interview of her career (like it says in the synopsis) and on her merry way along the yellow brick road she comes across crackheads, prostitutes, cops, jews and the struggle to survivor on the L.
A. streets. Much of the film is devoted to calling it's lead character a prostitute because she just appears that way to people in that sexy yellow dress. A lot of this movie is dumb, but that's the point.
Thanks to Elizabeth Banks carrying the movie along it works because of her. That's at least something to look forward to when watching. Otherwise, I'd suggest go watching something else.
