Review of Walk of Shame (2014) by Maksim B — 09 Jul 2014
Walk of Shame is almost as shameful, predictable and clichéd as its title suggests. Cheap and goofy it has a certain level of raunchiness provided by successful stereotyping of its characters, but as a whole it could be ranked as one of those movie for which spending money equals waste of money.
A young and ambitious reporter just misses a huge career opportunity. Devastated and disappointed, she decided to have a blast at a night club. After a wild night, a one-night-stand with a handsome guy and loads of alcohol, Meghan (Elizabeth Banks) gets a message that she is given a second chance for the dream-job. As it could be expected, that's where everything goes wrong and unlocks the series of funny, improbable, but somehow predictable scenes. The energetic performance of Elizabeth Banks ensures that the idea of telling the story of "a woman who went wild" is told in a fairly funny. This results in several decent laughs for a movie that is very close to being a total disaster.
In conclusion, Walk of Shame is only suitable for home video entertainment and only in cases when you have nothing better to see or you are in the mood for something mindless and fairly funny. If approached with very lowered expectations it could even has a good entertainment value.
