Review of Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story (2007) by Jimk. — 31 Dec 2007
Went there not knowing what to expect. I am not a Johnny Cash fan so that didn't hinder my perspective of the film. I found it very funny, very entertaining...and not in a slapstick way, but in a way of wit and irony.
It is one of those movies that you'll see a second time and laugh harder. The soundtrack is remarkably solid, too. It does satire a couple of groups that do not really have a sense of humor about themselves.
..so you're sure to get some people denigrating the film because they walked out insulted. But it is all in good fun, and if you don't laugh out loud at least a few times, therapy may be in your best interest.
