Review of Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story (2007) by Matt S — 08 Dec 2009
First off, let me say that I am not a big John C. Reilly fan...the dude's in everything; Magnolia, Chicago, Love of the Game, Gangs of New York, The Hours, Boogie Nights, The Aviator...the list goes on forever.
..completely overplayed, HOWEVER this film is totally hilarious!!! It's John's perfect role. Walk Hard is a totally 'in your face' parody of Walk the Line (The Johnny Cash Story) and this film never misses a beat! We travel with Dewey from his young childhood, where he always played 2nd fiddle to his perfect brother, right up to his senior years and everything in the middle is a bunch of good jokes.
Tim Meadows & Jenna Fischer (The office) join in the fun. I've shown this film to people that don't like silly films and they had to laugh! If you're looking for a surprising laugh go grab a little Dewey because when it comes to goofy comedies Walk hard is at the top of the heap! Brilliantly silly!
