Review of Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story (2007) by Tyler B — 07 Feb 2011
I do have some mixed feelings over Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story.
On one hand it's great fun and really great musically.
On the other hand long parts of the film are not that funny, more kind of sad like this dude really existed.
Maybe it would have been better to concentrate on one spoof, let's say Johnny Cash who still is the bulk role model of the film.
Now we get a little bit of Jerry Lee Lewis, Roy Orbinson, Brian Wilson and some kind of Bob Dylan as well.
Great scenes follows really bad ones. The Beatles in India-scene is horrible, but the protest song scene featuring the "Short Power"-movement is gold.
The Songs are solid all through out the movie, the theme "Walk hard" would certanly had worked in the day.
And Jenna Fisher is pretty as always.
