Review of Waking Sleeping Beauty (2009) by Bri B — 29 Oct 2009

I LOVE this movie! It is a movie about the making of my favorite movies - including The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, The Lion King, Aladdin and more! I gasped several times while watching this, like when seeing Howard Ashman teach Jodi Benson how to sing "Part of your World," Elton John singing songs from The Lion KIng, or seeing Angelia Lansberry and Jerry Orbach in the recording booths singing "Be Our Guest.

" There were shocking moments, like seeing the first version of Beauty and the Beast (which was horrible!) and seeing Jeffrey Katzenberg saying that Little Mermaid needs to cut the song "Part of Your World," (and Howard Ashman saying "over my dead body!") It was even better that I saw this on the Disney lot, where the movie takes place, and seeing where I work in the film! Actually hearing Michael Eisner talking about the building where I work was surreal! It was also so exciting to see several people I know or have met in the film itself! It would be interesting to see if someone who wasn't such a huge Disney fan thought it was as amazing as I did, but I can definitely say this was an excellent movie for me!
