Review of Waking Sleeping Beauty (2009) by Brian R — 31 Mar 2010
A well crafted insider look into the drama of Disney Animation Studios during the 80's and the perfect storm of creative awesome responsible for the 2nd Golden Age of Animation (i.e.. Little Mermaid - Lion King).
Incredibly interesting to an animation fan such as myself, I could watch hours more of these people.....but probably only appealing to those interested in the subject. The most important thing I learned from it is how integral Howard Ashman was in modernizing the Disney films into the classic Broadway style musicals that are so beloved amongst my generation.
Thank you Howard Ashman! Also, more confirmation of the fact that I was born in the wrong decade, what I would give to be the age I am now in the early 80's!!
