Review of Waking Ned (1998) by David P — 16 Jul 2008
Fair little independent Irish flick that showcases the beauty of the Emerald Isle and the colorful characters that populate it. A clever premise with some charismatic character actors but a few things spoil the film somewhat.
The complications presented by the film seem half-baked, it tends to wallow in stereotypes and the twist regarding the parentage of Maggie's son cast a borderline creepy quality to the preceedings.
Nevertheless a decent little flick that's worth a watch. Tilt:up.
