A small, simple film with a large heart. The acting - by every member of the cast - was as good as it can get. The story has enough twists to pull you along, and the subplot dovetails nicely with the main story at the end, but the genuine likeability of many of the characters, and the absurd yet believable complications, really sell the story.
If you like funny dramas or just want a break fro the usual "Something huge is invading Earth and destroying landmarks! Let's blow up a city fighting them!" blockbusters, you can't do much better than Waking Ned Devine.
