Review of Waking Life (2001) by Waldheri D — 09 Sep 2008
It's hard to judge this film. Here goes why: First of all, it's turned into an animation after there was a perfectly good recording (this failed with Beowufl). Secondly, there is hardly a storyline.
If anything, this film is a collection of scenes in which the main character is listening to random people - but what is being said, is quite interesting. Philosophical concepts of epistemology and metaphysics are spewn about.
I like philosophically laden films, so that's definitely a plus. I guess I'll just rate it "great" for it's spoken content.
