Review of Wake in Fright (1971) by Brandon W — 09 Oct 2014
Wake In Fright is a great Australia film that shows the life in Australia. The plot is very simple which can be just a way to introduce the Australian people, but it is very effective. The best part of the movie is Donald Pleasence as he is really great, and his character is good.
The main guy is really good, and the character transition is great and never seem out of place. Whether or not it's good, there's a memorable scene that would really horrify people. It really surprised me that they actually do it, and is shocking that people actually do those things.
It's a slow film which I was worried, and got a little bored in some scenes, but that's it. I think it's one of those films that people can study this and say that this film is more thought provoking than you thought towards the psychological parts, and it'll be fine.
