Review of Waitress (2007) by Gordon S — 05 Jan 2012
Very good dramedy with great work by Keri Russell as a spunky mom-to-be and extraordinary pie baker. She also happens to have three important guys in her life--Jeremy Sisto as her abusive, "human cootie" husband; Nathan Fillion as the ob/gyn who starts an affair with her; and Andy Griffith (yeah, really) as the diner owner with a big-time friendly crush on her.
Could have been Lifetime movie dreck but elevated by generally sharp writing, good acting, and a satisfying resolution. For an excellent companion flick, see JUNO.
