Review of Waitress (2007) by Blancoa. — 04 May 2007
Simply an excellent little film. It's great to see both Kerri Russel (Felicity) and Nathan Fillion (Firefly) in such quality roles, for a change. They deserve it, but so do we! Cheryl Hines and Adrienne Shelly (as well as Andy Griffith) provide the glue that holds it all together.
Certainly heartwarming, even though there's an underbelly of pain and loneliness to it all (see Jeremy Sisto). So sad what happened to Adrienne Shelly, who was really the queen of the resurgence in independent film.
The first must-see film of "the summer." If you're bored to tears by standard noise that the Spider-Man machine is churning out this weekend, you've got a perfect alternative.
