An indie poser (and poseur) film. If anything, it shows that audiences can either be easily manipulated at film festivals (buying actors to come in and pretend to like it) or festivals have extremely poor taste. Either way, it doesn't say much for festival stamps of approval.
Or maybe it was the cameo appearance of the actor who played Andy Griffith that tweaked easily manipulated fond retro-memories of TV past for aging boomers and gen-Xers.
What it amounts to in reality is a cliche tale that you expect of easily forgotten TV movies of the week.
