Review of Waiting for "Superman" (2010) by David Ray G — 13 Feb 2011
This was something sort of brilliant - I loved every moment, and Guggenheim really knew what he was dealing with. It was sad, heart-wrenching, infuriating, puzzling and sometimes fishy, but I couldn't help noticing how much pressure parents and society put on their kids to succeed. With that amount of pressure at that early an age, it's no wonder so many drop out!
A very well made documentary I was happy to watch since the educational system has always interested me - I think it's high time we all moved to Finland!
After seeing this, I can only say that those kids will wait for Superman a long time more... I'd love to say much more on the topic, but I'll end up being very mean and I don't want that.
