Review of Waiting for "Superman" (2010) by Kyle S — 12 Mar 2011
While I have some fundamental issues with Guggenheim's apparent refusal to pose critical questions of certain parties, I can always appreciate a dynamic and thought-provoking documentary experience.
I hesitate to attribute too steep a criticism to the work itself, as I think my real beef is with the willfully ignorant, intolerably selfish bureaucrats and adult-children driving this situation into the ground.
I am here only to offer my opinion on the film itself, and to that end, I can say without doubt that Guggenheim has done a great job here, thoughtfully presenting something that desperately requires our attention and, more importantly, our action.
A must-see, even if you do not necessarily agree with all or part of it.
