I think it's a great introduction to an important problem both with families and teachers. While, I think it lacks is touching on the depth of this problem, I like that it provides a solution that is working for some schools.
However, this point is also at fault. The number one factor in student success is parental involvement, and all students in these charter schools have this. I would have liked them to suggest factors that work, and factors that don't work, according to the limited research.
I would like to see more movies on this debate and see these issues from a teacher's perspective; they are the key players (when parents aren't involved).
