Review of Waiting for "Superman" (2010) by Barry N — 22 Jun 2011
It's a very good documentary. Although Guggenheim seems to naively assume that every kid can be "Superman" in the classroom. It also doesn't mention parental involvement/attitude playing a huge role in classroom success.
Also the whole assembly line elementary-middle-high school-college-job isn't right for everyone. That's not automatic success and happiness. For the average person, sure, that's great. There are a large number of people who that isn't right for though, and that's not mentioned at all here.
